Will you be stitching through the Olympics opening ceremony this evening?

This is the second top I pieced from my Celtic Solstice blocks -- it will be a teaching sample so I originally intended to just set the 9 blocks together, but once I got going and found this cute novelty print in my stash for the borders, I just kept sewing!
Yesterday dawned sunny but too cold to be outside much so I layered the little top up and quilted it.  Today I stitched on the binding and this evening, I'll do the hand stitching.
My first finish for February!  And all 4 3/8 yards used came off my shelves!!

Bring on the skiers!!

Linking up over at Link-a-Finish Friday!

  1. Looks good. I think doing a small version sounds like a good plan for as intricate as her mysteries are!

    1. I actually ended up with two quilts from the blocks I made -- one used 15 blocks and will be donated to my charity quilt group for our children's project and this one will be a sample for my basic template class using Marti Michell's templates to help quilters understand when and how to apply the templates to patterns.

    1. Binding is done, Karen!! Quite a ceremony for sure -- my favorite part was the end with the swirling "jellyfish" -- reminded me of the dancing mushrooms in Disney's Fantasia!
