It's been a long day -- lots of snow equals lots of shoveling -- does that count as an aerobic workout? And if it does, I did two sessions today -- can I skip tomorrow?
Time for a quiet cup of tea!
I'm headed for the hand stitching spot on the living room couch -- no one is allowed to sit there except for me. One of my favorite winter blooming plants is at it's peak on the bench next to me.
The friend who shared it with me many years ago calls it "billbergia" but it's also called Queen's tears bromeliad -- tough plant, loves to be crammed in a pot and blooms every winter.
I've been "led astray" by Faeries and Fibres Soupcon Hexagon QAL -- started late but almost caught up. This evening I'll start to applique the circle (Step 3) in place.
I'm not much for hand embroidery, but I made it all the way around the star with a pretty even buttonhole stitch.
I hope you have a pleasant evening!
To the couch!!

Shoveling definitely counts as exercise! I am so over winter. Love your 6 pointed star, just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI thought it counted, too -- and so I refuse to feel bad this morning about oversleeping and missing my 8 a.m. exercise class!!
DeleteYour block is absolutely delightful - it makes me think of Spring! I love the fabrics and colours you have selected!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen -- it is part of a "wonderful" pile of fabrics I pulled for something (?) and it seems to be perfect for this project so far. Wonder why I pulled it?
DeleteOh Mary, you make me laugh :)
DeleteYES!! shoveling is aerobic for sure! love the block. it's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at Needle and Thread Thursday!

I don't mind to do shoveling couple of days a year :-) but yes drinking tea and sewing is much better. Nice block.
ReplyDeleteWe are past your quota of a "couple of days" shoveling -- and still half the winter to go?
