DVD, Set-In Piecing Simplified and Marti Michell's templates.
I usually take along some piecing to use as a demonstration when I vend at a show and this one was no exception. I bounced back and forth between two hexagon pieces that I have in progress while talking with dozens of former customers (I owned the original quilt shop in this area for 26 years) and students.
Some stopped by to see how I was doing. Some stopped by to ask a question or two. And some stopped by to see my samples for my workshops to be held during the Lake Metroparks Farmpark Quilt Show in February and March, 2015.
The show coordinator had stopped by earlier and left me a stack of the show flyers to share. Doesn't RaNae Merrill's work look interesting?
That was one of the hexagon pieces I was adding to during the afternoon and the star now has another complete round and over half of the background hexies. There are now six flower motifs that are three rounds and have background hexies around four sides -- almost ready to set them all together!!
If Northeast Ohio is accessible for you (yes, I know it will be winter), the show hangs for six weeks and usually has about 200 quilts on display.
It's a judged show -- entry applications will be due in early January with quilts to follow in early February.
There will be workshops throughout the course of the exhibit and a big vendor weekend at the end of February.
Information for all the events will be available soon!
Once on that page, scroll down to Quilts 2015 -- if it's underscored, the page is up and live, ready to provide you with entry forms and workshop information.
In the meantime, I'll keep working on my hexagons and hope you'll think about joining me for one of my workshops!
